Let me explain. I was flying to NY on 12/14/2016 – my dad was very ill – I had a lot on my mind. As God would have it, I had the pleasure of sitting next to a delightful young woman – Abbey, who was in the seventh month of her first pregnancy. We chatted and discovered a shared love for dogs, especially chocolate labs (we are both owned by one). We had to whip out our 2016 photo albums – aka smartphones – and show off pics of our precious pooches. I was then forced by my inner mom voice to show her photos of my amazing adult kids. So, of course she had to show me in-utero pics of her precious cargo – “Eleanor”- those 3D shots are remarkable! She scrolled to THE picture which “announces” the gender of the baby….below the waist, if you will.
I laughed and said, “I can just hear her when she’s 13 and perhaps this old airplane conversation comes up – she might exclaim…’MOM!!!! REALLY?!!!’ “
Here’s to you Miss Eleanor, may you grow to be as kind, sincere, and lovely as your mother.
And Abbey – you’re going to be an incredible mom!
